Advertising Policy
Marstick may display clearly labeled advertising on public content pages to support free maritime learning, weather, marina, and planning resources. This policy explains where ads may appear, how we separate ads from editorial content, and how privacy and safety considerations guide ad delivery.
Purpose of advertising
Advertising helps Marstick keep public maritime guides, learning articles, marina discovery resources, weather explainers, and practical sailing tools accessible. Ads are used to support the platform, but they are not allowed to reduce the clarity, safety, or usefulness of core content.
Where ads may appear
Ads may appear on public informational pages such as learning articles, weather guides, marina directories, glossary pages, public news or Wire content, and other general discovery pages. Ads are not intended to appear inside private account areas, billing screens, emergency flows, route execution controls, safety-critical map actions, or places where an ad could be confused with a navigation instruction.
Ad labeling and separation
Advertising placements are kept visually separate from editorial content and should be recognizable as advertising, sponsored, or promotional material. Marstick does not design ads to imitate app controls, official safety notices, route recommendations, weather warnings, or editorial endorsements.
Editorial independence
Advertisements do not determine our educational recommendations, safety guidance, marina information, article topics, product explanations, or editorial coverage. Paid placements, affiliate relationships, or third-party ad demand do not change the safety-first principle that users must verify critical maritime decisions with official sources.
Safety-sensitive content
Marstick avoids placing advertising in ways that could interrupt or distract from emergency guidance, weather warnings, route-planning actions, onboard safety checklists, collision-risk context, or other information that may affect decisions at sea. Commercial content must remain secondary to clear maritime information.
Third-party ad networks
Marstick may use third-party advertising services, including Google AdSense or similar networks. These providers may select and deliver ads based on page context, user consent choices, device information, and their own advertising policies. Marstick does not directly control every ad shown by a third-party network, but we aim to configure placements responsibly.
Cookies and consent
Advertising and analytics storage follow the consent options shown in Marstick's cookie tools. Where consent is required, personalized advertising or related storage should not be enabled until the user grants the relevant permission. Users can review or change cookie preferences through the cookie controls on the site.
Prohibited ad experience
We do not intentionally allow ads that obscure important content, force misleading clicks, imitate emergency messages, promote unsafe maritime behavior, or interfere with normal page navigation. If an ad experience appears misleading, intrusive, or inappropriate, users can report it through the contact page.
Sponsored and partner content
If Marstick publishes sponsored content, partner placements, or paid promotions outside standard ad units, that material should be identified clearly. Sponsored content must still meet basic quality, transparency, and safety standards and must not override editorial judgment.
No professional endorsement
The appearance of an advertisement on Marstick does not mean Marstick endorses the advertiser, product, service, vessel equipment, marina, insurance provider, training provider, or any claim made in the advertisement. Users should evaluate commercial offers independently and verify suitability for their own vessel, location, legal requirements, and safety needs.
Updates to this policy
Marstick may update this Advertising Policy as the platform, ad placements, consent tools, or applicable requirements change. The goal remains the same: advertising should support the site while preserving trust, transparency, privacy choice, and maritime safety.
AdSense policy issue reviews
If Google AdSense identifies a policy issue, Marstick reviews the affected page, fixes the cause before requesting review, and avoids showing ads on pages that are private, unfinished, low-value, misleading, or unsafe for ad placement.
Content quality and duplicate content
Marstick aims to publish original, useful maritime content with clear purpose, sufficient detail, and safety-aware context. We avoid thin duplicate pages, copied text, automatically repeated templates without added value, and ad placements on pages that do not provide real visitor value.
